The Life as Imagined Protocol is a scientifically based, medically developed, 4-phase weight loss and wellness protocol, containing 2 key components: 1) weight loss, and 2) healthy lifestyle education so that you are empowered to sustain your results long term.

How does Life as Imagined work?

The four phases of the Life as Imagined Protocol work by bringing your relationship with food back to its fundamentals, and are designed to help you: set, achieve and maintain your weight loss goals. The Protocol is broken down into Four Phases:

During the weight loss phases of the Protocol, we limit carbohydrate intake to encourage the body to turn to its fat reserves for energy. This normal metabolic process is called ketosis. Is Life as Imagined a ketogenic diet?

Yes. Simply stated, a Ketogenic diet is any diet that forces the body into a process called ketosis, whereby fats are burned for energy.

Is ketosis safe?

Yes. Ketosis is a normal metabolic process, that refers to the state of metabolism the body is in when it uses fat as a primary energy source. In fact, we all may experience a little ‘ketosis” each night when we sleep. As we fast during the night, our blood sugars drop, and our body begins breaking down fat to use as energy.

Is the Life as Imagined Weight Loss Protocol safe?

Yes. A key first step in starting your weight loss journey is the completion of a Health Profile with your Life as Imagined Coach. This comprehensive profile ensures that there are no underlying conditions that prevent you from participating on protocol.

Once on protocol, you diet is nutritionally complete, obstructive weight begins to disappear, wellness is regained, and your personal coach is there to support you every step of the way.

Is Life as Imagined healthy?

Yes. Life as Imagined features a nutritionally complete protocol that includes one-on-one assessment, coaching, and healthy lifestyle education promoting long-term results.

Dieters are required to complete a Health Profile during their Initial Consultation. The purpose of the health profile is not to establish a diagnosis, but rather to determine a dieter’s health status to help establish and guide his/her weight loss plan.

Once enrolled, dieters must maintain compliance to our simple and effective protocol, resulting with predictable, repeatable and measurable results: burn fat, preserve muscle, increase vitality, end cravings, restore functional wellness, establish healthy habits and gain the knowledge to maintain your New-You, long-term.

These foods options include main courses, desserts, snacks, and meal replacements. From savory offerings to sweet treats, there are Life as Imagined foods available to suit every taste.

As a day-to-day example, a regular meal day on Phase 1 may include:

  • 3 Life as Imagined foods
  • 4 cups of select vegetables
  • 2 unlimited salad mixes

How much protein should I be eating per day?

Approximately 1/2 gram per pound of lean body mass. Life as Imagined is Not a high protein diet. Rather, we provide the appropriate amount of protein to nourish your body and preserve lean mass while encouraging your body to switch to burning fat as the primary fuel source.

Why are protein foods so vital?

Protein is the critical element that makes our bodies the way they are. Your immune system, vital organs, eyes, nails, hair, skin and your muscles all are made of protein. Powering our bodies are our muscles – the engines that burn calories and help us lose weight. The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn. The more calories you burn, the more fat you burn. That’s why men lose weight faster than women, because typically men have greater muscle mass than women.

Can I be on the Protocol if I'm a vegetarian?

Yes. Vegetarians can follow the Life as Imagined Protocol, choosing to consume eggs or tofu during their evening meal, rather than a traditional whole protein. As an alternative, vegetarians can also have two non-restricted Life as Imagined items for dinner in replacement of their dinner protein. Pescatarians (vegetarians who eat fish), can enjoy fish for their evening (whole protein) meal.

Can I be on the Protocol if I'm a vegan?

No. Due to their own dietary restrictions, strict vegans, those who do not consume any animal proteins and animal by-products (dairy products, honey, etc.), are NOT able to participate in the Life as Imagined Weight Loss protocol.

What type of exercise is recommended while on Protocol?

No exercise is required during protocol. Once appropriately triggered, the body will burn fat naturally. For those who wish, controlled amounts of activity like stretching, walking, moderate yoga, etc., are all fine. Simply make sure you are not "out of breath" while engaging in any physical activity.

Can losing weight improve my chance of conception?

Being of good health may help to increase the potential for conception, a successful pregnancy, and health thereafter.  As reported in The American Society for Reproductive Medicine Practice Committee report titled "Obesity and Reproduction” in its journal Fertility and Sterility, fertility problems associated with obesity may include:

 

  • Higher incidence of irregular menses and lower chance of conception
  • Response to fertility medications is less than optimal
  • Pregnancy rates with in vitro fertilization are lower
  • Uterine lining is less receptive
  • Higher rate of miscarriage
  • Pregnancies are more complicated

Is the Life as Imagined weight loss Protocol safe for children and what is the minimum age for following the protocol?

Children under 17 may be eligible to do the Alternative Protocol, provided their parents or guardians obtain prior approval from the child’s pediatrician. Check with your coach for details.

Is the Life as Imagined weight loss protocol considered a high, medium or low calorie diet?

Medium to low calorie diet, whereas the Alternative Protocol, which incorporates additional foods, would be considered a medium calorie diet.

My religion prevents me from eating specific foods. How can I avoid them while on the Protocol?
